According to the results of your votes on “What sand mandala is to be made inside our Stupa», the majority has voted for the mandala of Tara and Avalokiteśvara.
These two options were proposed to the delegation from Drepung Goman Monastery for their consideration. Lobsang Yarpel Rinpoche has chosen the Avalokiteśvara mandala.
Avalokiteśvara is a Bodhisattva, the embodiment of the infinite compassion of all Buddhas. The Avalokiteśvara Mandala will contribute to the emergence of this quality in everyone who watches it.
The ritual of making the sand mandala of Avalokiteśvara will be conducted by the monks of Drepung Goman Monastery on November 13-16th. Every day while making the mandala, the monks will performe special rituals to clean the space, to restore the balance in nature and to find the harmony. Traditionally, anyone who comes to the sacred mandala receives an immeasurable amount of blessings, eliminating fear and doubt, disease, bad dreams and bad thoughts.
