On October 31st, Lhabab Duchen is celebrated being one of the four main Buddhist festivals in the Tibetan calendar.
This is a celebration in honor of the descent of Buddha Shakyamuni from the Heaven of the Thirty Three Gods, where his mother Mahamaya was reborn.
For several months, Buddha gave teachings to her and other worldly gods. Then, at the request of his disciple, the Buddha returned, descending from heaven in the city of Sankasya, where he gave teachings.
On this day, the results of actions – good and bad – are multiplied by 100 million times.
On this day, followers of Buddhism all over the world recite prayers, make prostrations, Koras around sacred objects and offerings, bearing in mind the great kindness of Buddha to all living beings.
Commit good deeds with joy, and may all your kind wishes come true!
